Frequently Asked Questions

About Your Child

When settling your child into the Rosie’s rituals we can be flexible and allow them to use their ‘home’ routine while they are getting use to their new surrounds.

Our routines are always flexible to allow for the individual dynamics of the group.

All families are asked to provide a spare set of clothes for their child in case of any spillages or accidents.

Please provide a sun safe hat, sheets and a drink bottle. Rosie’s will provide nappies, sunscreen, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

We ask that parents provide their own formula for babies that require it from home.
All menus are nutritionally balanced to ensure that children are provided with the recommended daily intake of each food group.

Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea are provided. Dietary, cultural and medical needs are also catered for at Rosie’s.
We are always happy to work in with the toilet training you are doing at home in order to achieve this goal when the timing is right for each individual child.
Our Parent Handbook has a list of what to bring on the first day. On arrival, an Educator will take you and your child to their group, where your child’s bag will be placed in their locker.

Parents/guardians are required to sign their child in upon arrival and sign out at the end of the day. You are welcome to stay as long as you wish. We also welcome you to ring throughout the day to see how your child is settling in.
We request that you keep your child home if they are ill. This helps reduce the risk to other children and Educators. If your child becomes ill during their day at Rosie’s, we will contract the parents and arrange for the child to be collected.

MOUNT SAMSON – There is a car part at the front of the centre.

We recommend a minimum booking of 2 days per week as this allows your child to settle into a routine easily and also to establish a sense of belonging and security.
We operate an open-door policy, where parents and families are welcome into Rosie’s at any time.

We encourage parents to actively participate in the care of their children by becoming involved in and spending time at our Centre.
We have a clear policy and procedure to support any accidents that may occur at our Centre. All Educators at the Centre are trained in First Aid.

Should an accident occur parents will be informed either at collection time or via telephone immediately.  Educators also complete an incident form containing full details of the situation and how it was managed and parents are then asked to sign this at collection time.
We follow the Sun Smart program and have an all year round sun policy. Families are asked to provide a sun safe hat that can be labelled and kept at the Centre for their child.

Clothing covering shoulders is required as is a water bottle. Sunscreen is applied before going outside.
All Rosie’s Educators require a minimum of Certificate III in Children’s Services or working towards achieving. Each room has a Leading Educator who holds a Diploma in Children’s Services or higher.

Both the owners Shaun and Laura, along with the Kindy teachers all hold a 4-year degree in Early Childhood Education, along with decades of experience in this profession.

All educators have successfully gained a Working with Children’s Check (blue card) and all hold formal certification in First Aid and Asthma & Anaphylaxis.
We have a number of Educators who work across all rooms – we ask these Educators to take on the additional days/hours wherever required.

This provides continuity for the children as the staff are familiar to them.
Room routines vary depending on the age of the child. The individual routines will be explained during orientation.
We follow the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework at the Centre.

Our curriculum is a balance of child led and adult intentional teaching and offers children the opportunity to participate in active learning whilst having the support and challenge they need from educators.
At Rosie’s we use a software program called Xplor or Playground to keep you up to date with information and photos of your child’s/children’s day.

Simply download the Playground App to have access to child’s learning for the day.

Rosie’s also using the Rose Way planning, which we developed at our centre and is now used by over 70 centres across Australia. Your child’s learning will be documented and sent home each week.
Normal fees will apply when your booked day falls on a public holiday or absence due to illness.  However, if you book in holidays with more than 2 weeks’ notice, you will receive a 25% discount off your gap fee. Unfortunately, if the notice is under 2 weeks, the rosters would have already been finalised, and full fees will be required to cover the allocated staff.
A holiday discount is applied to your fees for up to four weeks per financial year providing you complete a holiday form two weeks prior to the holiday absence.

We require two weeks notice in writing for any cancellation or alteration of your enrolment and you must attend on your last booked day to claim Child Care Subsidy otherwise you will be charged full fees from Centrelink.

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a payment from the Australian Government that helps you with the cost of childcare. The CCS is income tested and is paid directly to childcare providers to reduce the fees eligible families pay.

CCS is dependent on your family income and the hours of recognised activities you and your partner do. You will find that there is a great amount of information available at Child Care Subsidy – Services AustraliaIf you have more then one child in care, the second child receives a higher subsidy from the government to make it affordable.

We normally find the families are out of pocket between $15 – $60 a day depending on your income.

  • Family income more than $83,280 to below $533,280 – Subsidy Rate Decreasing from 90%. The percentage decreases by 1% for every $5,000 of income a family earns
