About Rosie's

Our Philosophy

Listening to Children, Building Community

At Rosie’s Early Learning, we believe that children are competent, capable individuals with unique strengths and abilities. Learning is a lifelong journey, and we strive to create an environment where families, educators, and the wider community work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for every child. From the very first orientation, we foster a deep sense of belonging, connection, and security. By embedding family aspirations, early childhood theories, and curriculum frameworks, we create a rich learning environment where children feel valued and empowered. Through small group settings, meaningful rituals, and thoughtful planning, we nurture strong relationships and social-emotional development, providing children with the tools to navigate challenges and build resilience.

A Nurturing, Play-Based Philosophy

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and guided by influential theorists like Vygotsky and Malaguzzi, Rosie’s educators act as co-constructors, researchers, and advocates in a child’s learning journey. We recognize the power of play as a fundamental learning experience, encouraging curiosity, exploration, and self-expression through many ‘languages’ of learning. Our commitment to sustainability, risky play, and nature-based experiences ensures that children develop a deep respect for their environment and community. Cultural heritage and reconciliation are also embedded in our curriculum, with daily Acknowledgements of Country and an active Reconciliation Action Plan. Through these values and practices, Rosie’s provides a nurturing, inclusive, and inspiring space where every child can grow, discover, and thrive.

Our Values

Rosie’s Early Learning has successfully developed a values guiding document that involved all community members, including educators, children, families, and the wider community.

Together, we created a sanctuary for children, where every interaction was guided by values curated by the entire Rosie’s community.

Our journey of unearthing these shared principles led us to identify the key values that define Rosie’s:

  • Curiosity
  • Respect
  • Enthusiasm
  • Empowerment
  • Resilience
  • Compassion

Rosie’s citizens explored the depth of these values—understanding what they meant, how they were demonstrated, and what they were not. Through this collective effort, we have ensured that every child who attends Rosie’s carries these life-long values, equipping them for the future.
